Have to admit this trend is ominous. While it is understandable to be optimistic, we are talking about a 70% drop in less than a calendar year. To me, the Ocean seems well-designed. And from what I’ve read, the early critical feedback has been quite positive. But macro market conditions are challenging and, let’s be honest, the Fisker brand is probably a negative for most buyers. Their shoestring financing comes with a minimal budget for marketing, so it is hard to move the needle. And their distribution model is a limiting factor as well. With just over $500 million on hand, and an apparent crisis unfolding in the C-suite, it’s not hard to imagine this Fisker adventure ending rather soon with either a fire-sale acquisition by a Chinese automaker or a last-minute capital injection from the Saudis.
