For many prospective buyers, of course a gas vehicle still makes sense. For others, going EV today is a far superior choice. But while RJ Scaringe deserves plenty of credit for his visionary work at Rivian, assuming obsolesence of gas vehicles comes off as myopic at best. There are plenty of affirmative cases to be made for EVs without having to take things this far.
